Accordingly 18 students will be financially sumpported in 2019 if we have to maintain the same strength as envisaged under MOU. we earmarked one medical Scholarship for BPL student admitted in any Govt. Medical college in Delhi and foundation approached all the colleges for eliciting this special information but till date no positive reply has been received inspite of our representative Sh Vinay Daksh visiting them. The foundation also explored all over India byTimes of India and related group advertisement for any BPI candidte who got admission in any of the Govt medical college in India. Only 6 candidtes registered in our website & out of those only one with BPL card from a private college and rejected outright. Then we looked for EWS catagory families having total annual income less than Rs 1 lakh.

Out of remaining 5 candidtes registered in our website 3 supplied deficient data and till date only one namely Sumeet Shekhar 2nd year from UCMS is selected & another one being selected with MAMC MOU group of candidates his consideration under EWS was cancelled. So this year instead of BPL scholarship one EWS ( Economically weaker section) families having tota annual income less than one lakh is selected. This led to us for streamlining of objectives of the foundation in consultation with the foundation registering authority. To assist NEET passed students. 1. BPL (Below poverty line) having BPL card either of Govt. Of India or state Govt with family annual income Rs 37000. 2. BPL Ration card holder with family annual income Rs 37000. 3. EWS(Economically weakersection) family annual income less than Ŕs 1 Lakh. 4. LSES (Low socio-economic status) family annual income less than 2 Lakh.

In all the above categories preference will be given to the notified groups by state or central Govt like OBCs & SÇs etc. The scholarship amount is equal to actual expenditure based on actual annual receipts of tuition fee, hostel fee excluding messing charges and cost of books & essential stationary issued by the concerned medical college & the college book shop. However the five year Mou signed with DEAN of MAMC has a special provision of Rs 40000 annualy as tuition fee to the awardees of LSES catagory & we have asked the Dean to give the breakup, if any.

Our scholarship once granted envisages continence till completion of MBBS subject to the condition that the awardee does not fail & if so happenes the scholarship will be stopped henceforth. In addition to usual surveillance of above categories in 7 Govt. Medical colleges of Delhi annually at the time of admission for new session the scheme is proposed to be extended gradually in the Govt medical colleges of adjoining states according to availability of funds with the foundation.

TO KEEP TRACK OF VARIOUS ASPECTS OF SCHOLARSHIP AWARDEES* Mr Vinay Daksh computer expert who is looking after the website will also develop this software this year. The application window for NEET applications will remain open till December 31, 2019, The exam will be conducted on May 3 and the result is expected to be released by June 4, 2020. Those who clear the NEET will have to appear for counselling rounds conducted by the Health Ministry, Government of India. It was charitable initiative by Usha-Darshan foundation to assist NEET cleared BPL candidates getting admission in any of the Govt. Medical Colleges of Delhi state. It was the first year of the Foundation to achieve its objective after 1918 NEET admissions in Delhi medical colleges. A short term consultant for one month was deputed to survey all the medical colleges of Delhi to look for BPLcandidtes.

  • 1. Out of seven medical colleges the two Jamia Milia of Hamdard university & Vardhman Medical college at Safdarjung Hospital are private and their fees are exhorbitant and do not fit in the pattren of Govtt. Medical college so not considered for medical scholarship of this organization.
  • 2. None of the medical college under survey showed any BPL candidate in the current year admission after NEET results.
  • 3. Then the survey looked for candidates coming from families with low socioeconomic status whose annual income is less than 2 lakhs rupees. Survey failed to detect even this catagory in the regular current year admissions of the medical colleges.
  • 4. During the course of discussions with the Maulana Azad Medical college authorities it came to light that the college in addition to regular quota of students the Govtt. Of India also sends some sponsored candidates from various states belonging either to notified catagories with low socioeconomic status families or simply from low socioeconomic famlies.

We grabbed this opportunity and this led to signing of five year memorandum of understanding with Dean of MAMC New Delhi. As per MOU Usha-Darshan charitable foundation will provide a scholarship for 30 students in 5 years to complete their MBBS studies with total input of Rs 40 lakhs. Yearwise plan has been formulated for impletation.

Accordingly 10 students were selected by MAMC selection committe where representative of Usha-Darshan foundation was also copted. These students belong to different states of the country and all belong to low socioeconomic famlies.

  1. 1. As usual 8 students will be taken from MAMC for our medical scholarship
  2. 2. We again look for BPLstudent in 2019 regular session from 5 medical colleges and may consider for medical scholarship for BPL catagory
  3. 3. To review the performance of 10 students offered scholarship last year.
